History

Built 1886 on Angel Island, on the west-facing shore. The smallest and earliest of the three Angel Island lights. Documentation is thin; whether any structure remains at the site is unclear.

Why it matters

Part of the Angel Island three-lighthouse anomaly with Point Blunt and Point Stuart. Worth knowing the name; not worth a dedicated trip.

The visit

Reachable via ferry to Angel Island State Park and a trail walk. Whether anything marks the site on the ground is an open question — please tell us what you find.
